DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO SHOWING ME HOW TO SET THE PSI?
Yes, we sure do. Simply click HERE!
WHICH STAUN VERSION SHOULD I BUY? SD, HD OR LD?
First, decide what pressure(s) you plan to air down to for off-pavement driving. Then, select the Staun Tyre Deflators set that fits that need. Our 6-30 PSI SD standard version is our most popular. To clarify, SD (6-30 PSI), LD (1-10 PSI) and HD (15-55 PSI) represents the pressure ranges you can air down to, not your normal pavement pressures.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF AIRING DOWN?
There are two main benefits to airing down tires on unpaved surfaces. First, the increased contact area of your tire with the ground increases your traction “footprint”. Second, a lower pressure tire is softer and will absorb more shock from a rough trail.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I AIR DOWN?
This is a fun question to discuss with your off-roading friends, as there will be no shortage of opinions. Manufactures recommend street tire pressures, so on the trail the decision and liability is up to you. Factors that may affect your decision include the weight of your vehicle, environmental condition, your personal driving style, and your risk tolerance. Many say they start noticing the benefits of airing down at 70-80% of published pavement pressure. Experiment and determine what works best for you.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO AIR DOWN TOO MUCH?
Yes, there are risks. The lower the PSI, the greater the stress on your tire beads, which is where the tire seals to the metal wheel. Those driving with very low pressures typically have wheel “bead locks” installed to assure the bead remains sealed on the tire. For example, most drivers who use our Staun Light Duty (1-10 PSI) deflators use bead locks. Also, more aggressive driving styles will increase the stress on your beads. Aggressive driving might include high speeds, fast turns, and quick acceleration or deceleration.

DO YOU SELL PARTS?
No, we do not. However, feel free to drop us a message if you have a need. We will do our best to help get you up and going again.
IS IT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH THE DEFLATORS ON?
We do not recommend driving with the deflators on your tires. The deflator will protrude from the stem and could easily result in damage. Remember, Staun Tyre Deflators work so fast, by the time you apply the deflator onto your fourth tire, the first one will be nearly complete.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY DEFLATORS?
We recommend keeping your Staun Tyre Deflators clear of the dirt and mud. To clean externally, use warm water and a lint free cloth, allowing to fully dry before storage. Routine maintenance is not normally required, but if dirt gets into a deflator, it can keep the O-rings from properly sealing. This may cause erratic behavior of the deflator. To clean, remove the cap, spring and piston. Wash all parts by hand with warm diluted soapy water using typical dish soap. Allow all components to completely dry before reassembly. We do not recommend applying any lubricants.
